Not all skin conditions and injuries require delivery of an active ingredient into the systemic circulation. In many cases, the therapeutic effect is needed directly at the dermal level — for example, at the site of tissue damage, inflammation, or infection. For such applications, we develop therapeutic skin patches designed for localized action without systemic delivery of the active ingredient.
In terms of its technological characteristics, this system shares many features with a transdermal therapeutic system (TTS), but is designed for localized rather than systemic action. The patch contains a hydrophilic base that provides reliable adhesion to the wound surface. A gas-permeable backing layer allows oxygen to reach the dermis.
Another advantage of the system compared with a conventional patch is its specially developed composite, which promotes faster and more effective penetration of active components into the damaged layers of the dermis and their delivery directly to the site of inflammation or infection.
